24" x 1" in. (540) RX16 Spoke Aluminum Wheelchair Wheel Benefits
This wheel features a combination of straight pull and J-bend spokes. The straight pull spokes on the inside of the hub increase side load integrity when cambering the wheel and the J-bend spokes on the outside of the hub are cross laced which helps increase wheel rotation integrity. It all adds up to a competent wheel assembly suitable for many types of activities. The spokes themselves are 12 gauge in size which adds strength and reduces the number of spokes required.
Fitment Notes
This wheel assembly fits a variety of wheelchairs from Invacare (Top End), TiLite, Quickie, Colours, or any other brand of wheelchair using a 590 mm rim size with 1/2" inner diameter bearings. The width of the hub (measured from outside bearing to outside bearing) is 1.875". To verify if your existing axle will work, add the width of the axle carrier tube on the wheelchair plus any spacers that are being used to this hub (1.875") and compare the length to your existing axle. If you are using a quick release axle, the length is measured from the underside of the adjustment nut to the start of the retractable ball on the other end (most quick release axles are adjustable in length by up to a 1/4"). If your are using a conventional hex head axle, the measurement is from underside of the head to the end (remember you need additional length to accommodate the thickness of the nut).
- The Shox urethane tire is a solid flat free tire featuring a custom mix of elastomers allowing impacts to resonate throughout the tire, yielding superior shock absorption. The tread pattern is an ALL Terrain design, Black Color. Sized 24-540 (24 x 1 in.).
